Verdejo is not on the same level as Easter. Easter is clearly better than that kid.

After what I saw in Verdejo against that brazilian guy, I'm pretty sure Easter would stop him in 7 rounds max.

Kid has no ring IQ whatsoever and doesn't have a clue with regards to making adjustments.

I don't even believe Verdejo won that fight. How can you win a fight when you only landed three clean punches the whole fight?

Even the camera man couldn't make him look good during the highlight reels at the end of the fight, the highlight reels they showed were of Verdejo hitting gloves and air, which is pretty much what I saw the whole fight.

Verdejo's team knew they lost and Silva's team knew that they won, just look at the facial expressions and body language of Verdejo's team after the bout and look at Silva's team celebrating, coz they all knew.

However, the judges were always going to score it for Verdejo and the commentators were always gonna narrate it like they did.

That's unfortunately how it goes in boxing.

PS. Easter would have smacked the **** out of both Verdejo and Silva.

Ward needs one more tune up so he can lay the leather on kovalev. everybody has been hating on Ward now they are begging him to fight. he'll whoop kovalev when he's ready. that will be in late november.

I'm more excited with the undercard fights tonight than the main event. Broner vs Theophane , these are the level guys he can beat cause he isn't beating any of the best guys in his division. decent mailbag as always

Why do people say Jacobs never calls out GGG? When asked if he'll fight him he said yes. He even posted a picture with GGG at the WBA conference saying it's the fight the people want to see. If he would've called out GGG after his Quillin fight people would complain he's calling him out because he knows GGG has a mandatory for his IBF title.

The WBA regular vs. Super is not recognised as a unification. The WBA said they are working with the WBC and won't call for a mandatory until they know if Canelo & GGG are fighting.

If I'm team Ward, I aim at Chilemba next. He's recognized as a top 10 LHW, but like Barrera he's big & strong but has a low output and slower reflexes. Ward will look good again. I'm still interested in a Ward/Pascal fight, but I don't think Ward gets much credit after the beat downs Pascals had vs Kovalev and tough fight he had with Gonzalez.

As for Danny Jacobs, the guy does himself no favors going on Twitter and calling out Saunders. Everyone knows if Danny fights for the WBO title, he gives up his WBA interim belt (and free's himself of the future GGG obligation). Jacobs is also losing all his momentum from the Quillin fight being soooo inactive. Thank you Al Haymon.

When it comes to Ward, bread seems to agree with everything I have been saying. Which should be no real surprise, considering that all top fighters/trainers are saying the same thing.

But I fully expect the average casual fan to disagree, and argue.

It's not about looking good, it's about being sharp.

Ward isn't playing media/manipulation games here, like some of the other "top" fighters are doing.

Ward is going to fight Kovalev, and he will need to be right on point for that fight. Being saying for awhile that Fonfara would be perfect.

Excellent point. Whoever Ward picks for his next fight should be someone that will help him get sharp, not someone that will just make him look good.

Breadman is right when he says that Andre's timing was off. You could see it when he was missing widely on his punches early on and also with how he didn't pull the trigger quickly enough in certain spots.

He needs to get and stay active in order to smooth out those little rough edges.

Great mailbag. I thought Ward looked solid. One more tuneup than Kovalev. Man that's gonna be a hell of a fight !
