I think you gotta read in between the lines on this one. Oscar is hyping Khan since Manny & Floyd supposedly avoided him (vs just going with equal or better options I'd argue in Bradley & Berto or options they felt made more sense to their narrative at least if you disagree with my former take) with his remarks & thats his bigger struggle right now. Selling Canelo vs Khan. I think Oscar would blow Arum to be able to make Canelo vs Manny in September regardless of what he's saying now when he's trying to sell a mismatch. Thats my take. Although I can see people disagreeing strongly cuz Oscar is no stranger to some nutty takes on ****, but I think he's usually got good takes on big fights & passing of torches which Canelo vs Manny would represent.

Like Pac just said he's really a light welter 140lbs why would he want to get involved with a guy who walks in in at 175lbs? light heavy!.....Canelo is fighting Khan who was not good enough to fight Mayweather or Manny thats why those fights were not made.....Oscar is a joke ....completely

The Khan fight is a joke as Khan should be trying to prove himself at welterweight , having been knocked out at light weight and then at light welterweight.....Canelo calls himself middleweight champion but insists every one fights him at 155lbs what a clown.

maybe its because the headline is that ****** itself.alvared has no business fight khan nor pacquiao.he literally ducked all champions at 154,not to mentions all the tops at 154-160 to fight a 147 fighter.

Because he gotta sell the event.

It's so disingenuous to say Khan was avoided by Manny and Floyd.

No, he would have fought either or even both if he hadn't been stopped twice- and once by a journeyman in the first minute of round 1, in the same year that Manny beat the brakes off no other than Oscar De La Hoya and began his unbelievable run at welterweight (after already becoming a surefire hall of famer at lightweight).

Khan was always in the picture as a possible opponent for Floyd or Manny- and I do wish Floyd had fought him over Berto for sure. But for most of those years Khan was always just a reasonable option B or C.

There was always someone else I'd rather see get the opportunity. That includes Maidana. If Khan really wanted to lay blame- Maidana hijacked his window to fight Floyd by trashing Broner and then giving Floyd his roughest night since Castillo.

Khan is an elite offensive fighter but he is also terribly flawed. Canelo took a cherrypick here, and if it ends up being a tough night for Alvarez then that is all on him.

Anybody can get it, any place any where any time!

Pacquiao fought Margarito , why not go up for CANELO? CANELO would end Pacquiao. CANELO taking on top talent once again! GGG quit hiding behind Abel Sanchez's skirt , you hypejob punching bag , CANELO will make you miss you're slow telegraphed punches and counter you all night & make you pay , dropping bombs on your old weak body & head , you're not ready for this level Golovchicken. CANELO stops Khan in 5 and GGG in 4! Don't blink Abel Sanchez , you better have a white towel in one hand and smelling salts in the other , cause your gonna need to use both faster then you can say Triple Duck!

"Canelo has other roads to follow, like facing the best fighters at 154 and 160-pounds."

But what about all the best fighters at 155? He should clear out 155 first before draining himself to 154 or moving up to 160.
