As in, one guy gets such a bad beating that he's never the same afterward? Then, yes.

It would look more like Pirog vs Jacobs, with Golovkin feeling him out for a couple rounds then increasing his work-rate until the inevitable KO around 4-6 rounds.

By pretending Golovkin doesn't exist while holding onto a WBA secondary belt that nobody even pretends is legit, Jacobs has made it clear that we will never want anything to do with Golovkin.

He lost to Pirog so what? Pirog is better than anyone gg has faced. I would have favor Pirog in a fight vs ggg,

Try to follow along, man. OP said it would be like Chavez/Taylor and I said no, it would be more like the Pirog fight and that Golovkin, like Pirog, would feel him out for a couple rounds before knocking him out. That's how I envision the fight, which was not a knock on Jacobs as Pirog was a good fighter.

Golovkin was set to fight Pirog on his HBO debut. Golovkin was the betting favorite. Unfortunately Pirog pulled out due to his back injury, but that's a different topic.

Based on what again? Beating Jacobs? Not saying you're wrong but your so sure about an very uncertain thing. Pirog was hardly a dominate fighter at 160.

Right. Unfortunately he didn't get any opportunities after Jacobs (best win after that was Nobuhiro Ishida).

Golovkin has obviously beat a lot more quality fighters than Pirog ever did, and in much more dominating fashion. Still, it would have been a super interesting fight. Always makes me sad thinking about Pirogs injuries.
