loss of taste feeling due to a punch

Hello. I have just wondered if the blows to the head in boxing could cause such a trauma, which may lead to loss of taste feeling of the food? Moreover, were/are there any boxers who suffered from that condition?

I'm not sure about that, but I heard you can get loss of taste by watching a Mayweather fight.

        Bro,
if you or someone you know are experiencing this, I suggest you get yourself checked out. I've never experienced this before. It doesn't hurt to take safer procedures...

hey guys, I am not saying that i suffer from this. Im just thinking if boxing could cause loss of taste feeling, which would be the reason to consider giving up boxing... because food is one of the delights of life also it would be really awful not to eat some delicious food

if you loose your smell, you will loose the taste.
So if you are hit in the nose, it could happen.

Yes, but I think hit into the nose may cause it only for a short period of time, I mean once broken nose is fixed, the problem may be gone.

BUT I rather think about direct damage to head by a punch , which might cause the PERManent problem. So I wonder is this possible and common?

go to the hospital immediately man, i hope youre joking. A head ache, slurred speech, lethargic movement is common but some one really knocked the taste out your mouth...thought that was a myth
