    GGG making P4P #1

So according to boxrec Saul Canelo Alvarez is number #1 pound for pound... GGG is #4. If GGG knocks Canelo the **** out, does that make him #1? Would it?

and if GGG wipes the floors against Canelo.. would he be pound for pound #1 on your list?

Canelo has made a career of beating smaller guys, how can boxrec have him ranked #1 p4p? Their system makes no sense.

When Ward-Kovalev fight the winner is #1, doesn't matter what happens between Golovkin/Canelo.

This. That fight really is the determining factor for who is the best right now.

Canelo and Golovkin (especially) have a lot more work to do after that fight to get up there.

Have they confirmed they're taking the P4P belt in the ring with them?

Possibly but highly unlikely. Gonzales remains #1 until he loses of looks bad. GGG vs Canelo winner would be #2 and Kova vs Ward would be #3.

The only way the Kova vs Ward winner becomes #1 is by clear domination by one of the two fighters. A SD decision win wouldn't be enough for either to take the crown.

Boxrec has no place in P4P rankings. P4P rankings are supposed to be an assessment of skill and records combined. Their mathematical equation used, only calculates records.

As for the #1 spot, it should logically go to the winner of Ward vs. Kovalev. The only interruption I could see their is if Golovkin vs. Canelo produces a spectacular early knockout. Given both of their chins, you have to think that fight goes to the later rounds.

Id put whoever wins ward vs kovalev #1. Then if GGG knocks canelo out he would be top 3.
