If one of em loses in pretty dominant fashion, it might be hard to make a case fir them being #2. Agreed on 3-10 though.

Roman is top 10 material, but not top 5 material, he got only his record to talk about. Canelo doesn't even belong in the top 10.

Canelo has an excellent resume by modern standards. How can you have GGG in the top 5 when he hasn't beaten anyone? Yet ignore Canelo who has wins over Cotto & Lara?

The Cotto win meant nothing, Cotto lost to Trout and had done nothing for years. Canelo picked on an old small guy whose best accomplishment in years was to beat an old cripple and to lose to Trout without getting knocked out. As for Lara, many feel that Canelo lost that fight.

Golovkin is fighting at 160lbs and he is undefeated, while Canelo has arguably lost 3 times and is fighting at his own new weight class at 155lbs. Add that to the fact that Canelo is scared of Golovkin and it's pretty fair to say that Canelo belongs far beneath Golovkin in the ranks.

Fair points mate. P4P innit, it's all subjective. I'm impressed that you have Fury in your list.

Fury's size, undefeated record and newfound defensive powers make him worthy of being on the list and let's not forget that he actually defeated Wladimir, which is a very impressive win.

                  Mine:

                  1: Andre Ward (no question)
2: Sergey Kovalev (maybe the guy to beat Ward)
3: Manny Pacquiao (a legend on the downhill)
4: Tyson Fury (undefeated, one great win)
5: Gennady Golovkin (undefeated, no good wins, but being ducked)

That doesn't mean that I think it's the top 5 best boxers, they just deserve those rankings now based on their achievements.
                  IN NO ORDER

                  Ward
                  Kovalev
                  Chocolatito
                  Rigo
......5 is a toss up...I'll put Pac there for now....he gets dropped if he takes an L to Timmeh....Pac beats all the ww....too bad he wont be able to fight them.

Even past prime, he has underrated boxing skills and defense. I was impressed with how he did versus Mayweather...except he just couldnt cut off the ring. He was sharp on defense for his style.

Fat Dan had Wladimir as the #1 p4p fighter in the world when Fury defeated him. Yet the mongs at boxingscene put a picture of Wilder at the top of the site.

When Wilder has defeated Povetkin, he will have a respectable resume with two good wins, but until then, and even after then, it's all about Fury. Wilder needs to beat the Joshua-Martin winner to be considered on par with Fury.
