So Arum is gonna return the favor Hoya did for him years ago when he let Pac beat him the **** up to get his PPV status upgraded...now Arum gonna sacrifice Pac by putting him in with Nelo....wow!!....no way Pac beats Nelo at 155 or at this stage....Pac is a legend and he shouldn't be put in with the big strong red head....naw, I don't like seeing LEGENDS get iced....Pac will beat TB imo, then he should retire....what is left for him to prove?!?
A few years ago, Pacquiao would have defeated Canelo easily, but now, he's too past it to beat an opponent who is so much bigger and heavier than himself. Floyd's defensive skills made Canelo's strenght a non-factor, but Pacquiao's defense is not good enough to do the same and his punching power is not good enough to keep Canelo away from him.
I've always been intrigued by how a fight between 2009-2011 Pacquiao vs this Canelo would have looked. I can't see it any other way but Pacquiao mauling Canelo savagely. There was no one IMO between 140-154 who could sustain the Pacquiao storm.
Agreed. That version of Pacman, his his speed, agility, power and most importantly stamina, was a whirlwind which would make Canelo look more flat footed and workman like than normal. He would hammer him with combos and cut him up.
It could still happen, we'll just have to see how Pacquiao does v Bradley. In fact, more importantly, we will see how relevant Pacquiao is as a PPV star.
What's the point of having weight classes when you got dumb chit like this being brought up. After the Margarito fight he said he would never go up that high anymore and I don't blame him.
Manny's small at welterweight. No interest in seeing him at caneloweight.
Exactly! I don't want to see it! Canelo isn't as slow a guy as Marg! PAC would get crushed like an empty beer can!! Why hasn't Bob made this fight happen???
Ask yourselves that?? It would be a big fight... Manny would get smashed.
Y'all gotta let manny retire.. Even in his prime, no ****ing way.

Good post.
That's what I was thinking. Canelo is quite flat footed, stationary in his approach. I just imagine Pacquiao's speed and movement overwhelming Canelo. Specially when Canelo is a fighter who thinks too much before executing, and when you disrupt him, he seems to reset.
And I agree, I see it as a possibility, and an attractive one at that tbh. I'd still love to see it go down. I'd be extra hyped if he reunited with Ariza. Ariza was such a big part of that run, he was the most valuable piece IMO. His strenght training and conditioning was key in allowing Pac to be such a force.

Yep.
Ariza has a lot of personality problems but as a S&C coach, he is just about the best around the game.
It really depends on the success of Pac/Bradley because I doubt Pacs ego would take being second fiddle to Canelo in the PPV stakes.
