Basically what he's saying is...."I'm going to get my azz kicked and more than likely KO'd, so I want to be rewarded handsomely for it".

Saunders is acting as if 1.5mil is something to sneeze at. He's probably never made that type of payday before nor will he in the future with the potential opponents he's named.

And they'll eat it up. I'm like you and think these Buster Douglas type underdog, tomato cans are a WASTE of time. Wade is RANKED #3 by the IBF.

      GGG upcoming fights....

      Dominic Wade
      Jorge Heiland
      Alfonso Blanca
      Arif Magomedov
      GranvTuereno

I for one do not want to see ANY of those opponents but those are his Mandatories.

Still probably, 1 million more than any other big fight he would earn. I can't see him earning a couple of hundred thousands against anyone else. How much did he make against a well known Lee? No one in the UK could make him more money not even Eubank JR rematch.

Compared to what? $1.5m, to travel to the US (likely for MSG) and fight Golovkin, is a lot of money; people overstate the time of destruction that Golovkin can lay on someone, but that's another conversation (Saunders isn't just going to sit in the pocket and let Golovkin tee off on him).

Still the Eubank Jr rematch, with the animosity between the two of them continuing to pick up, Saunders now being a world champion, and Eubank Jr performing better with every fight, likely puts more than $1.5m in his pocket, for a fight that he has no doubts of being able to win.

Saunders-EubankJr II for the WBO 160 title, from the O2 Arena in London, on BoxNation (with Showtime International possibly picking up the US rights to the fight, based on what they could end up pairing it with stateside) is a helluva event/payday to look towards without needing to go anywhere.

All GGG and his team have to do is pay him and not just peanuts he can earn against the likes of Jacobs and potentially a Eubanks rematch, why take an absolute hammering for the same money you could pick up against someone like Jacobs and Eubanks and look competitive against and in all likelihood still have a fruitful and financially rewarding career afterwords ? Against GGG his stock will be shattered concerning his future.

Saunders had 2 offers on the tale, and both offered more than K2.

At least that's what I heard.

He mentioned 4 offers..... the 2 that paid more than GGG were Eubank Jnr, and Canelo. Not sure if true, but it was an interview with BJS/Frank a couple of weeks back.

                    Absolutely, so would I.

I wouldn't believe a thing either of those guys said.

If I am forced to pick a side, I will choose the guys who have NOT lied to me repeatedly.

It appears that Saunders has better offers on the table, and as usual, K2 want EVERYTHING their own way..... so I wouldn't hold my breath for that fight.

Like Scott.Weiland said, I would much prefer BJS/Jacobs anyway.

Dont know what else to make from these statments.
No one "needs" to fight Golovkin; you look at Golovkin's actual resume and there's been no performance where you can look and say "that was a great Golovkin fight".

No different that Alvarez's position, Billy Joe Saunders can continue to defend his WBO belt in the UK, backed by BoxNation, and make a really good living doing so (WBO generally isn't on board with the unification push, and they rarely force any mandatory defenses); Juergen Braehmer will continue to defend his "title belt" in Germany, pocket those homebase paydays, and fight whomever he wants basically (up until his camp starts to feel the slippage setting in, where they'd then pursue the biggest closeout fights possible, before hanging up the gloves).

Billy Joe Saunders is all of 26 years of age.

Here are his current top 15 challengers:

                      1. Arif Magomedov
                      2. Hugo Centeno, Jr.
                      3. Antoine Douglas
                      4. Tommy Langford
                      5. Artur Akavov
                      6. Andy Lee
                      7. Ryota Murata
                      8. Tureano Johnson
                      9. Lajos Mark Nagy
                      10. Maciej Sulecki
                      11. Max Bursak
                      12. Kerry Hope
                      13. Hassam N’Dam N’Jikam
                      14. Dominic Wade
                      15. Jan Meiser

                      All winnable fights, imo.

K2 has been largely shorting guys on money for years; that isn't going to work on fighters who have other optionsto fight and make money.
