    Remember when Povetkin tried to play chicken with Wlad by saying no OSTD no fight, and Wlad, though very annoyed, eventually agreed? and then Povetkin pulled out of the fight completely!!

    Edit: No source? C'mon man....

        I'm hearing rumors that the Povetkin camp is refusing to undergo VADA testing.

        Could this keep the fight from going forward? If I were Wilder, I'd be very nervous and very su****ious of Povetkin refusing to use VADA.

        Having a non-Russian organization conduct the testing is critical, considering that last year, the World Anti-Doping Agency suspended the Russian testing agency (RUSADA) for non-compliance with global anti-doping rules. WADA accused RUSADA of covering up cases of doping by Russian athletes, giving them advance knowledge of supposedly surprise tests and allowing banned athletes to continue competing.

        Should Wilder refuse to participate in the fight unless Povetkin agrees to VADA testing as WBC requires?

        Should the WBC strip Povetkin for refusing to comply with the WBC's new drug testing requirements?
        Rules are rules. If Povetkin ruins a career high payday, a chance to be world champion, and at home in front of his fans over refusing to take random drug tests, this is a clear message he is on steroids. There is no other reason. Where there's smoke there's fire. He's been popped for steroids before right?

            Interesting about the Wlad thing, then withdrawing!

            Regarding sources, didn't you guys see his manager say a couple weeks ago, after the purse bid, that he was going to have testing done by a "reputable lab in Europe" (whatever that means, lol). I don't think it takes a big leap of faith to think they are refusing VADA is they already stated they're using they're own lab if choice.

              This is a very fokd up thing by Povetkin to do to the fans if it ends up ruining the fight.

                    For those still wrestling with this, Povetkin's mgr last week;
                    Q; Last round, last question: Deontay’s manager mentioned that he expects full VADA testing for both Wilder and Alexander – what’s your answer?

                    A; We like the idea. We are absolutely supporting the implementation of serious doping control for both athletes. This is in the interests of both parties, absolutely. The only thing – who, how, where and when will be collecting these tests, at this time – that is a matter of negotiations."

                      Ah... the good old 'spot a likely upcoming scenario, post about it early and pretend to be an insider' trick. Works like a charm really, you'll disappear if it doesnt happen and re-emerge as another random account, or the very likely scenario comes to fruition (issues regarding the testing agency).

                      VADA testing under the WBC currently isn't mandatory. Not yet. In fact, theres no real set rules as to who is obligated to use it (i.e champions, contenders etc). It just seems like another rabbit for Sulaiman to pull out of his greasy corrupt hat whenever he feels like. I hope Povetkin and team agree to mutually acceptable drug testing ultimately, but we know Ryabinskiy likes to argue and drag any minor thing on for as long as possible - one camp will come out vocal about it at some point.

                      However, people can rest at least little easier as i'll point this fact out - RUSADA will not, and can not, be involved in this fight on their own. They no longer hold WADA accreditation. I would not be surprised if NADA was a likely option
