  • Andre ward wants golovkin fight now!

Light heavyweight contender Andre Ward (29-0) just came off an easy 12 round unanimous decision over Sullivan Barrera (17-1) last Saturday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Undefeated Ward feels it should’ve been Gennady Golovkin instead; only if GGG’s trainer Abel Sanchez would send him.

Not too late to back out of the Kovalev fight doe.

I for one would love to see Ward vs GG more than the Kov fight, which to me is a surefire hell for Ward.

I'd like to see Ward's genuine effort to make the GG fight happen this time.

    Still not too late doe.

by genuine effort do you mean agreeing to a catch weight he can't physically make?

So is this your opinion or something? Because Ward is in agreement to fight Kovalev and Ward isn't going to drop down to 168 then right back up to 175 for Kovalev. Likewise, Golovkin is in agreement with Canelo/Golden Boy to fight later after their upcoming fights. So it seems this thread is BS.

The win over Barrera means almost nothing. Barrera is just a slow average fighter with no jab. Everybody already knew Ward would easily beat him. GGG and Kovalev are 100 times better than Barrera and both would have knocked Barrera out in a few rounds. I think Ward was lucky he was fighting Barrera and not GGG because I think GGG would have knocked Ward out. Don't worry about GGG vs Ward because it will never happen. Ward stated quite clearly that he would never return to 168 and GGG won't spot Ward 15 pounds and fight him at 175. As a Ward fan you should be worried about Ward vs Kovalev because that's the fight that will actually happen. I think Kovalev will knock Ward out and also knock Ward down a few places on the top 10 pound for pound lists.

why fight someone who has done nothing on the elite level when you can fight someone more proven and cement your legacy?

                  Called common sense

GGG doesn't want the tough fights he prefers putting in all the hard work making 160 and drying out like a walnut to face Canelo for big bucks, I suppose this is prize fighting though, why would you wanna take a beating by the potential future p4p no.1 at 168 when you can take the easy fight versus Canelo ?

Ward is ice skating up hill, he should drop down and wait to see if Ramierez wins keep hold of a title until pressure from GGG's fans demand he take on a challenging opponent, true boxing fans deserves better than these mismatches Canelo and GGG have been treating us to recently.

I know the GGG fans are terrified Ward will beat their man but they can't be certain Ward will beat him, I actually rate GGG's chances well more so whilst Ward had been inactive, I guess GGG missed his best chance dude aint getting younger and he still hasn't really had a noteworthy win in twenty ko's.
