European immigrants went from a handful of players to making up something like a quarter of the league in a few years. That is insane growth, just like I said. I don't follow basketball and find it second to only baseball as the worst of the major spectator sports.

Yes, and young white kids have always been more drawn to baseball than any other sport. Latinos also, especially in recent years. Inner cities always have a lot of pavement for basketball courts and usually a boxing gym or three. Not to get to sociological or anything, but you can usually trace these trends through sociology, and that's a large part of what this Euro boxing thing can be attributed to- the fall of the Soviet Union and the social and economic depression it left in its wake.

this is exactly what the division needs. with the majority of the titles in europe, the americans will finally get themselves into shape and TAKE the belt from the champion - like they should be doing already.

agree! maybe they can motivate america. or it could signal the return of boxing in america. imagine promoters using america vs. the world in their promotion, i think it can get a national attention

** Yeah, he was sick in serious condition in the hospital for 2-3 weeks after Rahman. He'll be back at 275 after a couple weeks of grazing at KFC. Fattyboy will weigh well over 240 in his next bout. He's done, shot, finished. Time to cart him off to the rendering plant.

i also think the europeans are more authentically tougher - at least nowadays. the europeans have to fight, and work there way up the rankings for a shot. some of the american prospects and olympians have to do the exact opposite.

** Byrd would beat the **** off of Fatboy. It's Fatboy who's been ducking Byrd the past few years. You really should study up. Fatboy is a fraud for the rubes. He would last half as long as Byrd did against Wlad.
