A true warrior tries to fight the best no matter what. Not beatup on no chance mandatories. Sht Floyd got BLASTED for fighting his Mandatories....Like Baldomir, Ortiz, Guerrero by you same hypocrites!!! And those dudes deserved their fight WAY more then the IBF #3 mandatory Peter Wade who got a ROBBERY decision against a 42 year old.

Never discount ineptitude as a factor in a poor decision. I would say that is more likely than some grand plan, and if they had some plan it was more likely to do HBO a solid since that outlet is vital to GBP getting through this period.

True, ineptitude could always be a factor..
But I think GBP decided that Canelo beating Cotto (And snatching that lineal Middleweight Championship belt) would better serve their ca$h cow Canelo than milking Lemieux for a few easy defenses..... Particularly when they have Zero interest in fighting GGG anytime soon....

The grand plan seems to be in play....
Beat Cotto, defend against a non factor and vacate if necessary.... Lemieux still had a punchers chance, though a very slim one vs GGG....

That equals more than GGG pressing Cotto for the Mandatory and Cotto vacating out of fear.... Then Canelo would be fighting a clear Quack without a belt...

Who said anything about Floyd or GGG? And what's with the outrage over defending against a mandatory? At least those mandatory challengers were ranked.

Canelo making his first defense against a guy who's best days took place 20 lbs. south of the middleweight division is an absolute joke.

And being that he is a Mexican fighter, I hold him to a higher standard. Here you are screaming bloody murder that Wade is getting a shot at GGG despite a #3 ranking by the IBF.
