God damn the OP is a troll. Yes pacquiao could always fight, Roach morphed him into a monster. Mayweather could always fight, roger and company morphed him into a master.

With your dumbasssss bias logic you could discredit any trainer that ever trained boxers.

I said the same thing about abel. His like Freddie when pacquiao was on his winning streak. Everybody would hang on to every word. Even though it's all crap. When pacquiao got ko'd everybody realised he hasn't a clue what his going on about. When ggg loses the same will happen to abel. He'll lose all credibility not that he has any. Just in a lot of people's eyes

          Yep.

Average trainer at best who is lifted by a top fighter, yet he talks like he is some boxing genius. He's a tool.

I would actually compare him to Roger and/or Floyd Sr. Freddie has at least developed fighters and helped them improve. There's a big difference between the early Pacquiao and the prime Pacquiao.

Roger and sr together made an atg fighter of his era. Manny was already a world champ when he went to Freddie

I give Floyd Sr credit for teaching Floyd the fundamentals early on in his career.

I've watched almost every single Floyd fight and I have never heard Roger give Floyd any type of sound advice.

I agree with you to an extend (because I don't know enough to agree fully). I remember reading an interview where he was talking about preparing his fighters, and he said that they do general drills and stay in shape exercises. That he doesn't really prepare his guys for a specific fighter.

I found that very strange because Golovkin definitely over-emphasized his jab vs. Lemieux.

In Ward vs. Barrera, he didn't really give Barrera a specific plan to execute.. but I'm not ready to place all the blame on him. Barrera did try to crowd Ward for awhile, until he got knocked down. After that, he became cautious (which he couldn't afford), and after 8th, he gassed out. There isn't much that any trainer could have told Sullivan against Ward. He had some decent moments, but he was way too slow to do anything.

Sanchez is a decent trainer but he is beginning to become this guru to the media...which he isnt

GGG was going to be a successful fighter, with or without him...300 amatuer fights, silver medal.....already had good skills and power, hasnt changed much under Sanchez' guidance

                      what do you guys think
What got me was when Sanchez brought up Kovalev and how if Kovalev landed the shots Barerra landed Ward wouldve been KO'd. How the F is any trainer going to bring up someone else from a totally different gym to beat up a guy that just outclassed your own? There has to be an un-written rule amongst trainers that Sanchez broke.

But to answer your question, I think Roach is a joke coach but I will say he did improve Pacquiao, as for most of his other fighters, they were basically complete until they got to him. Sanchez on the otherhand is very lucky to have a gym where he does, Big Bear is a boxing hotbed. Other than that, I think he got lucky landing GGG too.
