Since Floyd Mayweather retired from the sport, Ward has been the obvious choice as P4P #1, especially when compared to boxers like Canelo who are wrongfully ranked higher. If Ward beats Kovalev, then there should be nothing to debate in the matter anymore. I think he should just beat Golovkin at 168lbs first as a warm-up fight, but I don't think that fight can happen. Golovkin wouldn't risk to hurt his own career like that.

Oh and you do realise a large chunk of of Armstrongs greatness is based off his move up in weight...did you know some of those fights happened at catchweights? I'm sure you didn't.
You know, two very big fights in Lenard's career, the Hearns rematch and the Lalonde, double title match ups, were at catchweights. I'm sure you didn't know that either.
Try again...you're just as ****** as the guy in your av.
No that is simply not true. Armstrong's greatness is not based on "a large chunk of..... catchweight fights"..... a small handful were. Armstrong held the featherweight and lightweight titles concurrently, and he made record defences at welter..... and no way is Leonard a legit LHW champ, come on man get real.
He gets very little credit for the Lalonde win in my book.
SRL was great looooong before that fight.
Neither of those guys carved a career from weight-affected fights, like Pacquiao did for the last half of his career.

As a boxing fan, I ain't got time for that ****. if it offends you, don't read.
When is the last time Pacquiao proved that he was the best in his division ?
LW ?
JWW ?
WW ?
JMW ?
Did Leonard REALLY prove that he was the best LHW on the planet by beating Lalonde, at 168, for a SMW title?

"Yeah b-b-b-but he wants to fight the best, he said he will fight Kovalev...some time" every Ward fan ever.
When is the last time Golovkin won a meaningful fight ? LMAO
When is the last time Pacquiao won a meaningful fight ?
Stop whining, Ward has signed an agreement to fight Kovalev.

But knowing he can be top 3 P4P -No1 for many - just by staying active against fringe contenders like Barrera, and getting paid $2million per fight while doing it, doesn't give him a lot of incentive to take risks and really go for it.
Tell me why that is ?
Oh right, because he has already proven himself at the highest level.
When is the last Golovkin did that ?
Name 1 fight ?
STFU willya, you golovtards should NOT be criticizing other fighters.

Stop crying over a pointless, MEANINGLESS, irrelevant, P4P list.
P4P means nothing..... it is always subjective, and it is always opinion.
Go make your own list and put whoever the fk you want in there.
