Tough fight to make a pic. I had only seen Barrera online but thought Ward would look good against the guy. The great thing about DVRing it is that you get to look at it over and over.

And although Ward did do many good things in there, he got touched more than I thought he would and it led me to believe Kovo would touch him alot more than Barrera did. His sharpness/skills weren't up to P4P level but they didn't have to be against Barrera. I couldn't find any prospective odds for the fight but Ward wasn't favored to win the super 6 and my guess here is that he wouldn't be favored against Kovalev.
I need to go back and research that fight again. I had friends over and was drinking so only paid attention to the fight and not the finer details.

Ward supposly hurt his knee again and had problems with swelling 2 days before the fight. When I saw the tweet I was like NOT AGAIN!!! Thought they were gonna cancel the fight like they did in November.

I need to rewatch the fight and see if the knee bothered him and that's why he got hit cleanly more than normal. This time I can stop and rewind it to watch the leg and the facial expressions more closely...

I believe Ward does need one more fight to tighten things up which I think he deserves. Kovalev has also stated he wants one more fight before facing Ward. So mutually both fighters want and need one more tune-up before they clash and both deserve it.
Kovalev never asked for another fight before Ward.

Ward is entirely different he is a thinker and tactition on Floyds level and wont be intimidated at all by Kov , Andres timing was a off a little bit I dont think he needs much tightening up to be mentally and physically primed for that fight .
He has come off a long lay off and surgery so Im sure he will get better not worse by the time they square off it was a good performance when you weigh everything up .

I think its a great fight and either guy can win it .

        You're definitely right, great post.

Pascal was out-of-his-depth, and Kovalev had his number..... but Kovalev looked really good..... he toyed with Pascal at times.

Ward/Kovalev will be a great fight.

I would prefer that Ward have 2 more tuneups, but even with only 1 more before Kovalev, I give Ward the edge.

        Great fight !

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Ward was a slight favorite when the odds are first released..... and then the Kovalev money will bring it close to even, possibly with Kovalev becoming a slight favorite.

          Bookie's bet with their heads.
