Robert Easter Jr. Stepping up This Week vs. Argenis Mendez

The main event on Friday night is meh, but I saw this on the schedule and it may be the best match up on the card.

Robert Easter is a 5'11 LW with a 76' inch reach. If he can continue to get down to 135, he may be a force in this division. From what I've seen, he doesn't utilize his height and reach that much but his opposition has been soft so it's hard to gauge what kind of fighter he's going to evolve into.

Argenis Mendez is a former world champion at 130 and I think was ranked as high as #2 at one point. His only loss was a one-sided decision to Rances Barthelemy but he's got some good wins over Juan Carlos Salgado and of course that ugly fight with Miguel Vazquez.

interesting prospect, if he look's good this weekend, i'd like to see him in against a legit top15/20 boxer next.

Rances cleans up the division but easter might have a say in that!

Thanks for the info, I look forward to it. Its a step back for Mendez I don't see how you go from beating a former world champion to a prospect I guess money is the logical conclusion ; is this a eliminator of some sort?
