    Maravilla and boxing politics

Finally got round to watching the Maravilla documentary on Netflix and was taken aback by the harsh reality of boxing politics.

With Sergio Martinez a truly great fighter being dealt the unfair hand wherever he turned, clearly there are so many more Maravilla's who are out there and being dealt a bum hand because of our (spectators) tendencies to fall prey to the traps set by major promoters and tv networks alike. Jumping on the bandwagon of he next big thing while many of us are avid hardcore fans it is still easy to fall into the trap of promotions.

That being said who would you rate as the next Sergio 'Maravilla' Martinez, an unsung talent who deserves some praise?

You can say Golovkin is having the same problem getting the big names and the WBC getting in the way again favoring another golden child to protect him.

Universum were determined to turn Golovkin into one of these. Held his career back for years.

Clearly he is, the problem for the Maravilla's, GGG's, Lomachenko's etc. is lack of named opponents.
I'm trying to figure out asides from monetary why not take the Ward fight and shoot yourself into the p4p stratosphere? I reckon GGG in my opinion would be the favourite, you may disagree and I wouldn't argue but why not take that fight when Canelo is being protected and won't fight GGG for another couple of years?
