WHO ??? came closest to beating FLOYD???

i know you know it won't even matter if floyd koed castillo or maidana in the rematch....
when you talk about the first fight, you talk about the first fight only....
and again, as previously stated, castillo (I), maidana (I), pac and floyd's women really beat him so for me mosley just almost did it, too....he he he
But, I agree with you, it is wrong to see a rematch as fixing a loss. Each fight is it's own entity/match. Many hardcore Floyd fans have tried to imply that a rematch win, undoes a loss.Comment

it's almost a billion dollars worth of a fight.
there were 3 judges, 12 rounds, 3 individual score cards 36 all together.
the guy who tallied it did so manually one by one, how come he never noticed he was putting the score on the wrong corner for 36 times?
was there someone to checked and re-checked it to make sure the score was right?
why was there no signatories on the final score sheet?
almost a billion dollar worth of a fight and all they did was use correction fluid to correct their mistakes and then again no signatories on who corrected it.Comment
Agreed. Look, if I have important documents that need a chain of custody, I don't use a carrier pigeon to deliver it. I go DHL, signed, certified, hand delivered, tracking number, etc. I wonder how many other fights had the red vs blue corner mix up???
NONE the very firs time in boxing history.
boxing historians are welcome to dispute this.Comment

this means we have to say our piece based on OUR reading of the fights and forget about the judges.....
the point is that if the above is granted, then we will not be confined to "came closest" only....as floyd's 0 is really only on paper...Comment

the issue is that we have to put aside the judges' score cards and focus on what really transpired during the fights.....otherwise, that would be just like a fly caught on a sticky pad....it trying to break free but could not....

My point is this: Where do we start our analysis?
There are plenty of Floyd fans who believe he beat Castillo.
Many of these same fans had Floyd beating PAC 10 rounds to 2.
Many had it 8 rounds to 4, Floyd beating PAC.
Marquez, and Canelo were not options in my opinion, because I believe they did very little against Floyd.
I added Mosley because of round 2.
ODLH, PAC and others didn't do as well. At least cotto bloodied Floyd up.
Who came closest is a good starting point.
Guys like Spoon23 will post crap like, "besides Manny, who else beat Floyd."
His starting point is fundamentally flawed. Then he will go into slow motion video's, what Spain thought.... Etc.
My question is:
Where is a fair starting point?
If boxrec is wrong then why do so many PAC fans quote it when it suits them only? Otherwise it is 100 percent false when it doesn't suit them.Last edited by Zaroku; 05-17-2016, 10:44 PM.Comment

castillio, maidana and pacquiao came the closest!
chino had him doing the dance and having teeth fly out and pacquiao had him confused and concussed with that handspeed! elusive stuff only the elite can do. floyd couldn't handle it.Comment

Although I agree with you on Floyd's, "0" , I felt we needed a starting point we need to work from. Several fans feel Marquez was cheated out of another 2 wins against PAC. How can we only focus on one guys record, without bringing up other guys official records too.

pac vs jmm has got nothing to do with your thread....
let us stick to the topic....
i am not trying to divert your thread to "who beat" floyd.....
that's why i voted mosley, comprende amigo?Comment

But I stick to my starting point premise. We need one.Comment

Honestly Judah was the only fight I seen Floyd in real trouble if Zab had better stamina Floyd would have been 48-1
JLC showed alot of heart but people gave him too much credit in the fight giving him all the close rounds jusr for being active even though he wasn't landingComment
