castillo did beat mayweather. that was a really bad decision.

as far as guys who came close but didn't pull it off, i think maidana would have been given the decision if those were 2 unknown friday night fights boxers. i had it draw-ish. first fight obviously.

Maidana was bring his best, with plenty of rough tactics. Tony Weeks let them have at it. I was laughing my azz off watching Chino hit Floyd on top of his head, nuts, hips, and behind the head! It was very enjoyable!

The Oscar fight was filled with so much FM Jr gems that i get upset that Floyd didn't bring up power in that fight because he hit Oscar with a few punches that really showed why he was a great boxer. That left uppercut in the 11th round at 2:45 where he looked like he wanted to keel over was amazing. Maidana fought rough and dirty, the other matches aren't worth bringing up but Castillo to me? Lost the first five rounds by really not doing much. Then if i remember he lost round 7 and or 9....and it was close, but clearly i felt Floyd won

But Castillo gets the vote.

Some people saw it that way too. But, I agree Castillo gets the vote. Most posters in this thread think so too, with Maidana a very distant second!!

I have not seen the fight in a long time but I remember Oscar blocking Floyd's punches well.

Oscar got out boxed, was chasing Floyd landing a few shots in these wild combos he would throw, but Floyd was not in real trouble in that fight!

Can't argue with that. This poll strongly reflects that Castillo came closest, with many feeling he won! With Maidana 1 a distant second.

Not sure why posters keep saying that fight was a robbery...if you watch it and score it round by round, yes it was a close fight...but how can Robbery be used?

if you were to score the fight and like, not count body work and ring generalship then i see how you'd have castillo winning. if you had, then castillo was up by like 2 rounds going into that what, 10th or 11th round and then floyd lost a point as well, it was a wrap at that moment.

you need to watch that again, there were no close rounds and if it is a 2 round advantage, then that's a 2 round advantage. clear win for castillo, on that night the fight world was wronged.

i'd suggest another viewing if you still maintain this position of floyd winning that fight. that's not what really happened that night.
