I just don't understand what the big rush for Kovalev vs Ward is?

Ward has fought 4 times in going on 4 years now. He's suffering from severe inactivity. For a fighter that relies on timing, speed and accuracy, having activity is vital for Ward's success.

Kovalev on the other hand has fought a whopping 12 times in the last 4 years and is peaking. Kovalev has 3 times the fights and activity of Ward in the last 4 years.

Listen, Ward needs another 2-3 fights until he's remotely ready for Kovalev. If he can't win those 2-3 fights then he had no business in the ring with Kovalev anyway.

No, I just want Kovalev to win straight up if he's going to win. I want Kovalev to beat the best Ward available, not someone who's been highly inactive for the last 4 years.

If you're a Kovalev fan, you should want the same. If Kovalev doesn't beat the best Ward coming off his best win showing no signs of rust, it will affect Kovalev's victory in the long run when people read about it in the history books.
