It'll probably be his shoulder surgery that affected his performance or past prime which are both true but nothing to be ashamed of because he is taking on a bigger man with devastating power

The "Kovalev" fans seemingly have way more material to work with when it comes to excuses.

Ward the fighter doesn't make excuses, he doesn't tell you he was sick when he doesn't perform to the best of his capabilities.
You don't know that because he hasn't lost yet. A reaction to not looking good in a fight isn't the same as reaction to a loss, especially a fighter's first loss.

But overall I agree with your post.

Ward fans wanted this fight win or lose, we aren't the ones that made threads saying Ward would duck, retire, pull out with an injury. Neither are we the ones making threads about refs and judges months in advance of the fight.

So tell me what side of fans are likely to be making excuses when their fighter loses??
          wards side....

Untrue. He has been criticized heavily for inactivity, for rough tactics, for facing mediocre competition over the last year. Ward didn't make any excuses and very few people on here did either.

Every fighter has good and bad points. His talents are strong enough that you don't see people feeling the need to excuse his faults.

                That's just not true.

Of the top of my head, he said he was being forced to fight Kovalev because of the color of his skin. Sounds like a whining excuse to me.

just a hunch but i cant imagine ward will be a gracious loser. Is definitely a whiner, spent years suing his promoter when he didnt have a case for it. cant be arsed to find the quote but he has whined saying he doesnt deserve to be hit by his opponent (yet hes happy to beat the crap out of overmatched opponents). hes a lot more egotistical than people think, and his ego wont handle being smashed to bits by kovalev

Forced to fight a guy he is intentionally going after? Come on. If you're insistent on making shyt up, at least make it believable.
