What the thread starter is basically saying is if Ward doesn't let Kovalev hit him he shouldn't be top 3 P4P if he wins.
no if its a clinic like mayweahter put on canelo, defensive but countering with flashy shots, fair enough. if ward comes and tries every dirty trick in the book, wrestles kovalev, strategic use of his forehead then no, doesnt deserve much credit in my book.
I think he will try and cheat for 12 rounds but hopefully the referee will have none of it and remind Ward that spearing in with your head for a clinch, headbutting, holding and punching is not boxing.
yeah thats what i was hoping for, but we all know why ward wants the fight in oakland...

Your book is full of Golovkin pictures and sticky pages, nobody cares about your book. Ward will do whatever he has to to win, that's what great fighters do and he'll get credit for beating a top 3 P4P fighter because that's what happens when you beat top 3 P4P fighters.

great fighters put on great performances and have great fights, as things stand noones going to talk about a single andre ward fight in twenty years time, hes going to be forgotten about. im not an andre ward fan but if he comes in and has a real fight, i will say fair play and give him respect

Within the rules of course. Ward frequently flouts the rules which is where a lot of people have problems with him.
He will only fight in spurts and will mostly come to spoil. He will try to win any way he can. Fighting it out with Kovalev would probably be a bad fight plan. I think he will do lots of holding and hitting.
