Which suggests Arum has some type of dislike for brothas from the Caribbean. If Lomo can get 750K to fight a nobody, Walters isn't wrong to ask for a mil to fight Loma. Walters is definitely the more exciting of the two.
Walters & Rigo cant sell, its as simple of that. Why they think they are worth all this money when 12 people turn up to watch them fight is beyond me

Slightly true I don't think they could bring their own fan base and sell out an arena such as Madison Square Garden. Their's two sides to every story and in defence of the purses $1M for Walters is justifiable given what TR has spunked before.

i said it before and i'll say it again, the general public is not going to care about the WBO 126 pound champion that they've never heard of moving up in weight to fight another guy they've never heard of who is coming off a draw and doesn't have a belt.

        the fight is meaningless.

hardcore fans assume it might be a good fight. which is lovely. but absolutely nothing is at stake and nobody cares about these guys.

You're comparing main events to undercard ratings.

It's true Lomachenko isn't a ratings draw yet, but at 28 with only 6 fights he's at least got more time to grow into the role than Rigondeaux had or Walters has.

Rigondeaux-Agbeko was the lowest BAD main event rating ever, which is a particularly bad follow up to what should have been a breakout performance against Donaire, which did a 1.1 million average.

And Rigondeaux was already about 33 at the time of the Agbeko fight.

With Walters, who's now in his 30's too, with 27 pro bouts...he's now drawn poorly two fights in a row.

The Marriaga main event only did 588k, and the Jason Sosa fight only did a 373k average with a 473 peak....and just like Rigondeux, these are follow up fights to a win over Donaire which did a 748 average with a 1 million peak (on a Golovkin undercard).

Rigondeaux and Walters have had their chances in HBO main events and haven't delivered an audience.

Walters almost certainly would've gotten a better offer to fight Lomachenko if he still had his title.

Walters lost himself money when he lost his title on the scales for the Marriaga fight.

Loma doesn't sell either though. Yet he gets 750K to fight bums. Both guys deserve more than what was offered to fight each other.

Exactly. Loma got more money to face a bum last time out, and now they don't want to pay Walters to fight Loma who isn't a bum. I'd hold out for more money, or just leave Top Rank period. Walters contract was about up I thought.

More than those two. Loma has huge potential for mainstream appeal and Arum realises that

Didn't Bradley-Rios bomb at the gate and bomb in the ratings yet cost $3 million?

                      Where is the consistency?
