He is Asian, in both the cultural and national sense.

He's from Kazakhstan, born in the former Kazakh SSR, one of the five Asian republics of the Soviet Union, and brought up there since.

Ethnically he's at least half Asian, his mother is Korean. I don't know which part of Russia his father is from, as most of Russia is also Asian. But from the look of Golovkin, he's probably European Russian.

So how is he 'much more russian/eastern block' (bloc)?
