As would the majority but I've followed DSG for a long time and I have faith in him; he performs better as the underdog. Counterpunching and strength looked sharp vs Guerrero.

I have followed DSG for years too. I like the guy a lot.

But he has never showed an ability to beat someone 5 dimensional like Brook.

Brook can slug, fight on the backfoot, front foot, box, move, duck, dive, fly, has a better jab, quicker + has more power with the right hand.

Garcia has a wicked left hook, but Brook has a good defence and good reflexes.

Honestly, after 4 rounds Garcia's face would be a bloody mess.

Garcia and Cotto will be able to find easier fights for more money, but I think a guy like Bradley will be open to a more difficult fight like Brook.

I think Garcia especially could make a lot more than he usually does if he comes to England to fight, he's not a massive earner or draw. I doubt he would fight in the UK though right now. Plus he must be 1st choice if Mayweather comes back for one last fight, so he won't want to ruin that. The whole selling point will be undefeated old guy against undefeated young guy, not that Garcia should be undefeated but that's for a different thread. He'll bide his time fighting average fighters on PBC waiting to see what Floyd does. Don't be surprised to see Garcia v Berto. Berto is 3 in the WBC rankings, if he beats Victor Ortiz, don't be surprised if that fight is made.


Cotto probably doesn't need Brook at all. He's made enough money and can probably earn good money fighting lesser fighters than Brook.

I think the best bet is Tim Bradley if he beats Pac or puts up a great fight at least. Or the winner of Porter v Thurman. I think Porter would be more willing than Thurman though.

If he comes to the UK, he wont make much after UK taxes on international earners, thats why a lot of athletes refuse to partake in events here

I still think Hearn and Sky would be willing to put up a big amount of money for someone like Garcia to fight in the UK, more than he could make in USA. He still pays taxes anywhere, obviously more in the UK but they would take all that into consideration when offering a fee.

Brook needs a big fight and Sky could hype that to be massive. There's a selling point of him being the guy who knocked Khan out, undefeated etc. etc. it would be worth the investment for them and Hearn to pay over the odds for Garcia.

It's not going to happen either way.
