Who was the first lineal champ after hagler?

Don't inflate the Barkley win...great win not lineal or undisputed

      Am I wrong?

Palomino was a solid guy but no better than cotto...like cotto he lost to the greats of his day...PAC n mayweather

I'd favor odlh, Mosley, PAC over palomino who was well rounded but nothing special

i can see you know ****.
I saw Duran, i know he was a beast.

        He was also very indisciplined.
The Good Durán would eat and **** Floyd before round 3.

That's cool fam. I don't see the point in arguing when two people see something differently. Nothing you can say can change my opinion and nothing I can say will change yours.

I think Duran of the 70's and the Montreal Duran beat Floyd. You don't and that's fine. That's what the forums all about. Good intelligent boxing discussion. No name calling or racism stuff just talks of the sweet science.

          • Good grief, nothing is more toxic to mature, objective debate than fanboyism and hatred. Fanboyism Fanboyism blinds one to their fav fighters flaws, and hatred blinds one to another fighter's abilities, and when you combine both fanboyism and hatred in the same person, you get much of the comments in this thread.

Its so sad that fanboys only see what they want to see. When its related to a boxer they almost religiously slurp, they suddenly have the ability to see in magical slow motion, not in real time. Excuses become truths, crutches, and the basis of their very existences. Boxing suddenly becomes a "business" when said slurpee blatantly ducks, avoids and dances around a dangerous opponent. The slurpee becomes "intelligent" or "smart" when they make negotiation breaking demands, being heralded as the "A-side". When it relates to a boxer they religiously hate, suddenly any kind of aggression, wild punches that don't land, or low blows count as "effective" or whatever else. Making somebody miss counts as running. Smothering offence counts as hugging. Amazing and slick footwork counts as riding a bicycle. Being a technical boxer, being a student of the sport, being slick, being skilled result in the boxer being hated, called a coward and ridiculed. When ducked, their is always sound or valid justification for the duck such as "he's boring" or "he's a runner/a stinker/nobody knows him."

Fanboys are extreme. Its either, or with them. They can't seem to appreciate the hard work it takes for ANYBODY to be even a slightly competent boxer. Regardless of style, amount of skill, etc, boxing at any level takes hard ass work, so when they can't appreciate how much goes in to making it to the upper echelons of the sport, it makes me so sad. They sit in front of their keyboards, with their "Hatred" head bands, "Fanboy Vision" goggles, and "Hatorade" and just talk ****. When all else fails, they have their "Racism Rods" at the ready to deflect attention from having no valid arguments.

Fanboyism is like mental AIDS. It destroys the mental immune system, and opens it opens up the objective mind to cancers like hatred, bias and racism. These kill their ability to be objective.

            Its just plain sad.

Horrible style match-up for Duran, I think that Mayweather would have been even more frustrating for him than Leonard was.
You missed the point entirely. When someone takes one fighter on their worst day, then I can take another on their worst day and compare. Floyd, unlike Leonard, would not have the physical strength and power to keep Duran off of him. Leonard made Duran take a step back when he landed, Duran would walk through Mayweather and pound him on the ropes incessantly and give him no room to breathe. And Duran's defense and accuracy is far superior to the aggressive fighters Floyd has faced. Duran of 1980 Montreal beats the best version of Mayweather.

Duran in Montreal was the motivated Duran that was one of my face

He slaughters a lot of guys....just not a prime pbf IMO

                Both were special

Obviously you are trolling! If you think a guy who was hurt against guys like Corely, Judah, and Mosely would not be taken out by a guy who is faster and hits WAY harder than those guys, than you have never seen Hearns fight. The only way to have ANY CHANCE AT ALL against Hearns is to get inside and stay there and Mayweather is not a infighter. The only way Floyd fights on the inside is with his back to the ropes, not in ring center which is where Hearns would have kept the fight. And no way in hell would Floyd be able to get past that lightning jab and straight right with fight ending power. Hearns would have knocked Floyd out in less than 6.

                  • But Mayweather kicked your best fighters ass, and that's all that matters and actually relevant..
