Redd Foxx, yes, Nakadai and Mifune are the genre's heavyweights; Sword of Doom is like watching a 9-round version of Hagler-Hearns... and then the camera bails on the last 30 seconds.

To you guys who dig classic Samurai films, check out the overlooked Tatsuya Nakadai film, "Sword of Doom". Dark and well before it's time. Not enough people have seen that one.

Last Samurai is the best.

It's a matter of preferences I suppose, but I sincerely hope you've seen Seven Samurai. If not, it's like proclaiming Floyd as TBE without ever seeing footage of Ray Robinson. To me, no comparison.
