Ward's attitude is how I wish all fighters would think. All these lil arrogant fux running around, that haven't accomplished a damn thing in the sport, yap'n about "I'm the A-side." And which fights make financial sense and which ones don't. Ward is arguably the best fighter in the world. But, he's in new territory and humble enough to feel like he has to prove himeself all over again. Kudos Dre.

Well there you have it. He has probably decided he wants no part of Kov. And I don't blame him. He'd get his azzhanded to him, gift wrapped, and sent Fed Ex back to his home. What he is saying here is, he will put in the most basic of boring performances imaginable... JUST enough to get the nod and no more. Along with his patented headbudtz and other assorted Ward Patented Fouls. IOW the typical Ward snooze-a-thon. He's comfortable at 168. I'm not sure why he's feeling pressure to move up. I just wish he would fight more.

He cant make 168 anymore. Why else would he not be eager to go down and fight the young bucks in the relatively hot 168 division?

Ward setting up that excuse to duck the fight already. If he wins but struggles in the process, he'll want a year or two to recover and state that he didn't do enough to warrant a Killa Kov fight because the fans deserve better.

Oh, he'll lose and he knows it. He just wants to collect a few mills for tuneups and the only way to get that was to say he'd be willing to fight Kovalev, that's not what Ward wants though but he has to work the excuses in softly so as to not raise su****ions.

He will actually probably beat Kovalev, but still he is milking the easy money while he can, which is understandable after that layoff and lawsuit, he has some funds to recover.
