Comments Thread For: Tony Bellew Rages About Illegal Drug Use in Boxing

The news that Australia's Lucas Browne failed a drugs test following his WBA World heavyweight title win over Ruslan Chagaev in Russia has kicked up the drugs in boxing debate once again, and Liverpool's Tony Bellew (26-2-1, 16 KOs) has waded into the fray by arguing that it is still a major problem within the sport.

Bellew should stay away from Lil'G questions about roids on the "off season" or weeks before the fight!

Randomly bringing up Golovkin out of nowhere.

It's amusing how threatened and obsessed you people are.

Marco Antonio Barrera and Prince Hamed looked way more shredded than a Lil'G as of late. We are talking about roids innit?

A lifetime ban for certain banned substances would make sense. Some PEDs can enhance you for years if not be lifelong enhancements studies have shown.

People act like a PED abuser would just take a PED in the weeks prior to a fight, but the reality is the most effective PEDs for long term enhancement would be more likely taken when a fighter doesn't have a fight scheduled & they could still improve themselves for future fights. You don't just need a magic pill PED in training camp & due to more testing during training camps happening I think that method is much less attractive for PED abusers than its ever been.

I've no clue what you're supposed to be talking about at this point, and I suspect you don't, either. You people tend to whip yourself up into a crazed, animal-like frenzy at the mere thought of Golovkin, losing all sense of thought and rational thinking.

Bellew the annoying idiot makabu RIP this fool please.

There are a million ways to set someone up who is clean to test positive. There are a million ways to slip testing if you are using. Boxing has plenty of wealthy, powerful, crooked dirtbags. Pro fighting is a skill based competition. Big muscular juiced guys get knocked out EVERYDAY. I would be more worried about getting set up to test positive than fighting a guy that is using. I assume the other guy is using anyway and don't care.

For deliberate doping, there should be bans of at least 2 years, if not 4 years, so that fighters and their teams feel the pain economically for positive tests.

I agree with you that drug cheats with at least a little brains will dope out of competition or micro dose so they're not popped when they're tested close to fights.
