No. Hearns hit him with some great punches but Hagler took them well. Those same Hearns punches would have KOed most fighters but Hagler had an incredible chin. Nobody ever knocked Hagler down or even really staggered him in his long career of fighting many very hard punchers.

Just further testament to Hagler's greatness. Tommy's power carried well through the weight classes as well so it can't be said he was'nt a legit middleweight. As you said, some of those shots that Tommy landed would of outright floored most guys and if it did'nt they would of at least had them in trouble. Hell I can't even say those punches hurt Hagler at all. He may of been buzzed by a few, but in the end Hearns chose the wrong way to fight Hagler that night lol.

He was definitely hurt in the epic first round. They were mauling each other though. He never seemed ready to go..

He got touched for sure but I don't think he was remotely close to being knocked out. Tommy lost his head in that fight. He should have boxed.
