That has to be the dumbest train of thought you can ever have. A win is NOT a win. On paper...yes. A sad win can ultimately hurt you as a loss can actually raise your stock and boost your fan base and the eagerness for more fans to want to see you fight again. So no a win is not a win. Bradley WON against Manny the first fight. A win is a win lol. yeah ok. Thats a dlck riders mentality.

I agree with your main point but Don't confuse a win with a robbery win. Bradley/manny 1 was a robbery. RJJ/Griffin 1 was a BS DQ. Danny Garcia over Herrera"wins" like that never help.

Winning does matter though. if its a fair, tough close fight, its always better to win than lose.

defiantly no confusion. Youre right...a win and a robbery win are different...BUT, in fact a win is not a win. It is more than just getting the W. we all seen wins actually hurt more than help. As losses actually boost ones career than hurt. Damn take Herrera for example.

Lol why am I not surprised. OT I have to say I like Ward as a fighter, the fight with Kovalev will be a defining fight for him and if he actually wins will no doubt be P4P#1

Herrera v Garcia was a robbery IMO and I am a huge Danny fan. Robberies should elevate the loser. So Hererra and guys like Sweet Pea (Ramirez) and many others were not wins and since they were robberies, the loser was elevated.

I agree. But that theory still remains. most people...no some...think that a win is a win no matter what. If its a robbery or if they cheated if they fought like a straight asz coward...Dont matter because a win is a win...and that my friend is just sad!

BTW im not hating on Ward. I do favor SK in this fight though. I think Ward is a good fighter. Dont think he is the best p4p but he has raw talent. Ive seen him look good and sometimes i seen him on his bike to much and make ugly fights. I think more exciting fighters are better for the sport. Thats why im hoping SK wins. Dont forget why a lot of casual boxing fans started following MMA. A fight is a fight. Fans wanna see excitement. We need that in our sport! Or more of it!

Well I may not totally agree with that but winning does matter. No 2 fights are alike. As each fight progresses you have to adjust your mentality. If you are down on the cards, I say go for the Ko and if you get KTFO, so be it.

That said, I do think you should fight to win. My best example is Leonard/Duran 1. SRL could've chosen to box and move like he did the 2nd fight. Yes he got praise for how he fought in a loss, but fighting like that gave Duran the best chance to land punches and win.

The other is Taylor/Chavez. Taylor essentially gave the fight away by continuing to fight the way he did. Had he not, the boxing world wouldn't have gotten the memorable moment we did when he went down. But he would've been the 1st to beat Chavez and wouldn't have suffered as much damage as he did.

There is a reason football teams run the clock out when they have a lead.
