He locks you in for eternity and has control over your entire career if you sign your like away to him voluntarily. Mikey is smart enough to know better. No one wants to be locked down in a contract like that for many years.

If Mikey was smart he'd become a free agent and work with promoters on a fight-by-fight basis. A guy that wants to build him up but lock him up and jack his money, or a guy who gives him the money but ruins his career.
Doubt those are the only two choices.

It can't be only the money cause thats just being ******. You can always win the fights and get paid more.
Haymon has not yet shown the ability to take one fighter to the top, if Mikey was smart, he won't be expecting that. And even if Haymon knew how, he definitely wouldn't use that knowledge on Garcia. Hes got other priorities.
