Comments Thread For: Hearn Even More Confident That Burns Can Topple Adrien Broner

Promoter Eddie Hearn has paid tribute to Ricky Burns' willingness to fight the best as the Scot prepares to bring world title boxing back to Glasgow. The former WBO super-featherweight and lightweight champion faces long-standing European champion Michele Di Rocco at the SSE Hydro on May 28 for the vacant WBA super-lightweight belt.

If there's one thing Broner is good at it's knocking out lightweights.

Whilst it's true that Burns has had a tough run of opposition as Hearn metions (including Zlaticanin & Crawford who've since gone onto bigger & better things) he's still definitely on the slide. He's not totally finished though and there could be 1 last top performance in the tank. Having said that I don't think he beats Broner.

Whatever happens from here with his career he is one of the few fighters who I believe has genuinely maximised his talent and gotten absolutely everything he could from his career and beaten boxers who some might say were more 'talented' than him, and it's been a pleasure watching him.

I wouldn't mind seeing Broner vs Burns even if it's way past the time when it was considered a big fight.

Why not? I don't mind if it's in Scotland too. Broner never traveled anywhere.
