Comments Thread For: Joseph Diaz Feeling No Pressure as HBO Debut Nears

This Saturday night from the Oracle in Oakland, California, featherweight Joseph 'Jo Jo' Diaz faces former title challenger Jayson Velez (23-1-1, 16KOs) as the opener on HBO. Diaz is making his debut on the network, which means that the stakes are raised and you play to a bigger audience.

Good luck to JoJo. Would love to see a JoJo Diaz vs Oscar Valdez match up in the future.

I second that. I hope both guys win their up coming fights in dominate fashion.
Both guys have former champions and contenders so this will for sure be their biggest test by far.

Both guys will be compared after their fights. Probably at minimum 2 years before theirs a shot for Valdez and Jo Jo to fight each other.

Jojo has hometown advantage, 2 points. Velez impressed me when he lost, he was polite, he didn't cry and he didn't run. Velez will have to be at his best, but I think his experience will be trouble for Diaz.

If JoJo is able to get a stoppage, that would make a statement here. Velez is vulnerable.
