They just didn't find a win over him worthy and Khan hadn't beaten anyone to raise eyebrows and get attention, imagine what this win means for Canelo if he does win. It will mean nothing at all. These fights mean more for Khan than the other side. Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo, these guys don't really benefit legacy wise from beating Khan. Canelo's win over #4 ranked JMW Arthur Rhodes like 5 years ago is better than a win over Khan at 155.

You on it. That's the litmus test, isn't?

I'll give Canelo props for beating Lara (though arguable) and Trout. He was just too big for Cotto. If he wants to be revered, he fights GGG at 160.

If he vacates, I can't imagine his fans in Mexico will be able to justify it. The duck would be so blatant; totally embarrassing.

Oh thats right, Pacquiao and Mayweather both never fought Khan.. Holy crap I just realized that too.. Canelo is in for a rude awaking considering the two best of this era decided to duck the Great Amir Khan son of Prescott and Danny Garcia..

Dying in laughter at these comments to sell a fight these days..

Mayweather and Cotto both refused to fight Mundine, as a matter fact they paid absolutely no attention to him, I guess that makes Mundine a legit contender.

Just curious, did nothing happen between the second Maidana fight and the Berto fight? I just feel like your missing something.

That's right, canelo's taking the big risk and fighting the guy who wasn't top 5 in his own division and brought him 1.1 divisions up, becuase he's a real fighter (who GB will do everything to prevent from losing on the cards).

Khan would've gotten the Floyd fight had he decided to fight Alexander the first time around. Khan did too much sitting around and waiting for Floyd/Pac instead of making a statement with a big win or two.

Khan was always a threat to both Mayweather and Pacquiao.
Let's see the top-rated opponents Khan and Mayweather had in common:

                      1) Maidana: Khan knocked him down and won by unanimous decision. Floyd won two times the same way, but was never able to drop Maidana, not even hurt him.

                      2) Judah: Khan obliterated him the whole fight until he KO'd him in the 5th. Judah knocked Mayweather down after punching him (glove touching the canvas) but didn't get the KD because the referee pretended it was a slip. Floyd won by decision, way less convincingly than Khan did when he totally destroyed Judah.

Many, if not MOST people, felt that Khan was more of a threat than Maidana for Floyd, simply because the latter had already faced bunches of opponents like Maidana (tough and strong but relatively slow, flat footed and very limited skill-wise), whereas Floyd had NEVER EVER faced a guy as fast and skilled, both in hands and legs, as Khan. Also check the KO ratio of Khan. He may have been KO'd a couple of times, but he has KO'd others way more times. HE DOES HAVE POWER.

So Khan was a legitimate threat for both Floyd and Manny, because of his speed and power. Also, Khan utterly dismantled Alexander, who in turn destroyed Maidana much worse than Floyd did --actually, Floyd had a very tough time with Maidana both times and if the fight had taken place in a place other than the US, he may have not won any of the two fights.

OTOH, people are quick to criticize Canelo for facing a MUCH FASTER guy who yes, he is naturally two weight divisions smaller, but yet taller than him and with better reach (even if Wikipedia ******ly states the opposite, Khan is evidently taller and has a larger arm reach than Canelo).

NOW, WHAT ABOUT FLOYD WHEN HE FOUGHT JMM (MARQUEZ)???

Marquez was at least two divisions smaller. He was shorter, had way less arm reach, he was fat and out of shape, yet way lighter in weight. And he was naturally slower both in feet and in hand speed (although not that much in the latter). He was so small and out of shape that all his great combinations meant nothing because he was weaker than Malignaggi, against such a bigger and 100% in-shape opponent (Floyd).

Now THAT WAS A SUPER-MISMATCH, a total embarrassment. Floyd couldn't even KO the much smaller, shorter, slower, weaker, fatter, two-divisions lighter guy. But of course, Floyd is American and the great majority of "boxing fans" on here are Americans. So even if their idol does such a cowardly thing like fighting a guy who is utterly handicapped against him in all possible aspects, they will stay silent about such injustice, and just claim that their idol "toyed with JMM". Of course, ANYONE under such unfair circumstances, would have KO'd Marquez easily, never going the distance versus such a physically inferior opponent.

Canelo-Khan is an even fight, compared to that travesty that was Floyd-JMM at the time. But most people completely ignore that. This is very unfair because it is ALWAYS about nationalities, races and ethnicities. Most so called "boxing fans" always root for the person they identify with most, rather than the guy who is actually the better fighter regardless of his citizenship, color or race.
