    Is FNF dead or what?

I miss the style of FNF. Even if it wasn't modernized, I always looked forward to a laid back friday night in front of couch, Joe(not Bernardo!) and Teddy giving their thoughts and Teddy showing his game plans. Its a bummer for real.

Reason why FNF had relative success was because fighters weren't looking to get paid handsomely. They saw FNF as a platform to show their wares and get some exposure leading to a larger arena. Coaches, trainers, people who invest in fighters need this kind of exposure. Which is why FNF had steady stream of fighters willing to come and fight.

Contrast this with PBC-produced cards where fighters expect to get paid 3 to 5x as much. You could easily figure the difference in production cost where PBC is simply unsustainable.
