I don't mind seeing a fighter tie up an opponent's arm and go to work, a prime Hopkins and Roberto Duran made it look pretty because they can get a lot off offensively, it's just that no one else does it like that anymore. I'm a fan of Ward and even I can admit it's not always enjoyable to watch.

And why wont you guys admit it.

I also find it funny how you guys cry about people not understanding that the so called running is in fact "BOXING" cause you got some some damn quotes of some dead fuck but I digress why is it that these same people wont acknowledge inside fighting?

bottom line get over your fucking selves and enjoy what you want, you like watching dudes do laps in the ring cool, but stop trying to convert people to see it your way they dont have too lmfao.

        ****** mexicant

If a guy is running and punches you, and you can't catch him to stop it, unfortunately he's a better fighter than you PERIOD cuz you cant adapt or modify ur strategy enough to overcome his

''running'' is only evident for (numerous rounds) throughout a fight where the chased fighter can't respond with an offensive when being cut off. Cotto style lateral movement is completely different than a Khan ''circling'' around the ring. I mean Bhop walks the ring taunting guys to come forward...

It's just those styles, and a fan would have to use some common sense for the size of a ''ring'' and its benefits. You can't have dynamic action if a ring is completely small. That's not how combat entertainment works.

So what is ''running'' to the OP? Which bouts to reference? Round, time?

Nobody lieks watching that or thinks it's "true boxing" but a lot of them have to pretend they enjoy it because they personally identify with a fighter with that style.

I think that sums it up pretty concisely.

Throwing punches is the key here. I don't care how much a fighter moves around the ring but if he throws punches and gets himself into meaningful positions to hurt his opponents, that's called boxing.

Not Peterson v Garcia or Mayweather v Pacquiao but rather Hearns v Leonard or Ali v Frazier.

                    He didn't toy with either.

He just 'bigger man'ed' cotto and had a close fight with lara that could've gone either way.

My problem is this. I look at a fighter that needs to set his feet to punch or can't cut the ring, in order to expose his weakness, I need to use my feet. I want to make him constantly reset because he can't beat me unless I handicap myself by standing still.

If I see a one- dimsensional fighter who relies on a left hook **cough cough Donaire**....I'm moving because he can't win unless I give him an opportunity to land that shot.

I just think different. I look at it from the perspective of a fighter giving him the best opportunity to win as opposed to just some "gentlemen agreement" where we agree to go toe to toe to show who has more balls.
