Comments Thread For: Martin Murray Aims To Bounce Back Strong on May 7

Four-time world title challenger Martin Murray insists there are still plenty of options open to him despite his loss to Arthur Abraham.

The 33-year-old from St Helens was beaten on a split decision by the German WBO world super-middleweight champion back in November, but will return on May 7 in Manchester.

There is the Macklin - Rose fight, in addition to Selby - Hunter for the Joshua undercard. Groves - Murray could be the main event on regular Sky, or as chief support in a PPV card. I think it's a thing of timing and dosificating.

Macklin vs Rose looks a really good fight.

It is sad that in boxing that fights like this aren't routinely made. When you get guys that are not really at a world class level (any more in Macklin's case) getting fights that they are overwhelming favourites in it is what kills the sport. This is a really good clash of styles. Macklin may be shopworn now though. The Heiland KO was nasty.

With that said Groves' next fight looks crap on paper. Purely judging his opponent by the fact he only has one knock out win to his name.
