It's not for his "beliefs", who cares about them if he keeps them to himself... but to publicly call a group of people he just simply can't understand "worse than animals" and then try to play coy by citing some Bible passages to his convenience, is plain ******, it stirs hatred from those groups he just doesn't understand at all and/or for people who tend to be more open minded than ape-minded...

He could have simply stated, for his own political sake, the he is against gay marriage and that IN HIS VIEW it is wrong, according to HIS OWN beliefs (not the Bible, not his religion, he doesn't have the authority to think what he says goes). People should have learned their lesson already.
