Sanchez is just trying to sell tickets.
His 34 yr old "kid" is overmatched. Ward is more than a step up in class for Barrera and SOG wins easy in a snoozefest.

As much as I would love to see Ward lose, he isn't a speed demon who relies on amazing reflexes or movement like say Roy Jones did. He is much more like Hopkins. A very smart fighter who can do a ton of subtle things great and can bring a variety of styles to the ring. That kind of fighter, especially one rarely hit flush has a long shelf life.

It's impossible to say because Ward is so inactive that it's hard to say how good he is right now.

It's just guess work from Sanchez right now.

              Wow, great game-plan.

I would have assumed that Sanchez would throw everything into making sure that Barrera is prepared for the very best version of Andre Ward..... not sitting there hoping that the very worst version shows up.

              It sounds ridiculous.

Abel Sanchez fighters are on the spotlight now, fighters will come to him, but they will take L's. Abel will need more than trash talking and talking about what his fighter can do and what another fighter can't do without backing it up. He got lucky with Golovkin. He is now talking trash in a position where his trash will be taken out and put to rest momentarily. Obviously if Barrera wins, he will look like a genius trainer.

                Yep, true.

And if Ward outclasses Barrera, Sanchez will look like an over-rated asshat.

He could at least attempt to prepare Barrera for the best version of Andre Ward, just in case he decides to show up.

I never said that was his gameplan, can't you read?

I said nobody knows how good a 2016 version of Ward is. I'm sure they are preparing for the best.

The fact is that he's so inactive, nobody knows where he's at right now. So by Sanchez saying Ward isn't as good as he was, that's just a guess. He might be even better for all anybody knows.

Ward is not beating Sergey in a million years, I doubt he'll even fight him

thats his only hope...thats why they didnt risk GGG taking that L. Only fighters that can challenge Ward are KOV and Stevenson from 160-175...thats because of size and power....Ward has the most know how out of anyone near their prime.....Hopkins and Mayweather are basically done....Ward has the whole tool shed at his disposal and they hope he has slowed but 175 wilol benefit him because Ward depends on his mind and not physical assets. Athleticism fades, the mind can always evolve and learn new skills. He is a student of the game as well
