    By Karl Freitag
Comebacking two-time former champion Fernando Vargas could be facing middleweight contender Ray "Hallelujah" Joval when he returns to the ring on March 26 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. It doesn't seem that Joval has any power so I'm taking Vargas by blowout.

I think Vargas will want to go some rounds just to get back in the swing of things. Vargas KO 8.

I disagree, I think he goes for KO early to get a shot at the championship belt.

                  Vargas

Vargas hasnt been the same since he got
beated by DLH, but i still take him over.
Joval has fought kids with good records but none of them strikes me as good comtetition.

                  I Take Vargas

The questions isn't really about Joval, who will most likely lose in spite of being a decent fighter. The question is how well Vargas handles the weight, comes back after such a long layoff, and whether his back is ok.

Joval's chin is good enough that it wouldn't surprise me to see him go the distance against a rusty, cautious Vargas. But if Vargas performs better than he has since the Da la Hoya fight, I pick him by knockout.
