Comments Thread For: Roach Confident: Bradley NOT Even Close To Being Mayweather!
Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is confident that Manny Pacquiao will once again defeat Timothy Bradley - even with the addition of Teddy Atlas in Bradley's corner.
Roach is 100% correct. Just like he never improved Manny, Cotto, or any other established champion that's come to him a finished product. The best thing Roach has done for those guys is great match making. And when they ran outta perfect marks, his guys turned back into what they've always been. This Bradley-Atlas marriage is no different.

Roach improved Toney to the point he started taking the juice

The only guy I think Roach really improved is Manny. Come on now... As for Cotto ur absolutely right but he did improved Manny ALOT.

No he didn't. Most newbie fight fans don't realize that Manny was already a world champion when he got with Roach. Manny has always been a fast, awkward, power punching southpaw. He comes from weird angles. And his primary course of attack is jab, jab, straight left. The only times Manny has shown variety is when he doesn't have any resistance in front if him, just like most tpp level fighters can. But just like Roach said about Bradley. When Manny finds himself in a competitive fight. He reverts back to the same jab, jab, straight left routine he's always had. It happen in the first Morales fight. It happen in all the JMM fights. Even though the second fight was supposedly when Roach made all these changes and improvements in Manny. And it happen against Floyd. He is what he is. He's dynamic at what he does. And Roach deserves very little credit, if any, for the success Manny has had. Roach's best contributions have come in matchmaking. More times than not he's picked the right guy at thw right time for Manny. Some of them were considered huge risk. Having the ballz to go with his gut ia where Roach deserves a lotta credit. Because most guys wouldn't do it, especially with their golden goose.
The way manny was completely ineffective in the Floyd fight is worrying though I think Floyd always beats him but outside of two rounds manny was useless and that shows a real decline.
