NEW YORK Former two-time world champion Paul Williams, who's pro career came to a sudden and tragic end when he was paralyzed from the waist down after a motorcycle accident in May 2012, is back in boxing as a trainer.

The popular Williams will work the corner of once-beaten Justin DeLoach (13-1, 7 KOs) when DeLoach faces undefeated super welterweight and local favorite Dillon Cook (16-0, 6 KOs) in the opening eight-round bout of what is now a ShoBox: The New Generation quadrupleheader on Friday, March 25, live on SHOWTIME (10:30 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast) from Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Okla.

Glad to hear that he is going on with his life and not letting it hold him back from living. With that said, I stkll believe if he would have left Peterson and went with Manny Steward who could have taught him how to use his length and size properly the way that he showed Wlad and Lennox then Paul would have had the chance to be the best fighter of his generation. He had the talent/size to beat both Pacquiao and Mayweather but he never truly learned to use his physical gifts.

im sure he will do a lot better than some of these guys who never laced up a pair of gloves in their lives. Nowadays people throw a towel over their shoulder and they call themselves a trainer.

Williams is still young and was an elite level fighter...he'll do just fine.

Most fighters dont even move around with their guys and im sure his old trainer will help him with things like mitt work.

This man will always have the utmost respect out of me. He took that life changing situation like a true man, had his breakdown, and regrouped. That shhh could not have been easy on any scale for a regular person much less an athlete. Hats of to Mr. Williams, whatever he has his hands in I will support. Welcome back champ.

I was really hoping he'd be able to do this and I'm happy for him. Paul inspires me as he's one of these guys who will always look for the positives.

Absolutely awesome, very glad Paul is returning to the sport of boxing, I'm sure he will be able to make some noise as a trainer. Nice to see he has stayed as positive as he has throughout everything he's been through.
