What's the problem? Povetkin & Klitschko had strict drugtesting if I remember correctly? I can't recall for sure but didn't Wlad refuse to use the Russian agency?

If memory serves me right, the issue of drug testing nearly crumbled the Klitschko-Povetkin fight. Povetkin and Ryabinsky wanted Rusada and Klitschko wouldnt fight unless the German testing organization and the BDB oversaw the fight. Klitschko got his way in the end.

As I remember this is what happened, Vlad insisted on using a German agency independent from RUSADA.

Povetkin should agree to undergo random testing carried out by VADA. This should leave any controversy aside in terms of PED use.

Yes, that would be reasonable and fair, but I think this could develop into a deal breaker.

Povetkin has been training for this fight since January. If he was on something, it's too late to tell anyways.

Whats to spin? Everybody that matters hopes Wilder and Povetkin are tested strictly, as we should hope for every other professional boxer out there too.

VADA has a solid reputation as far as I know. They aren't corrupt like RUSADA.

This WBC-VADA union has been "set to begin" for quite some time - and if it is in effect then wouldn't it be mandatory for Povetkin to partake anyhow? Or do both fighters still have to agree with VADA's terms beyond the fight contract (which makes this wbc-vada thing pretty pointless)? There's so little transparency in boxing. Wilder's manager almost sounds like he's hoping VADA goes into effect as opposed to knowing it should.
