Berchelt has his admirers, I personally gave up on favorite fighters. I prefer situations that guys overcome, the odds (I like underdogs), and skill. I'll take Canelo over Khan, but 3G over Canelo; an objective point of view. It depends, but so far Berchelt has faced no adversity, he's had it all his way... Almost. I want to see him in the fire, with less friendly surroundings, I want proof before I jump on the band wagon.

Hats off to Jupp for taking a shot given to him but he had no business in a title fight, even if it was only an interim alphabet belt. It was a pro vs an amateur fight. WTF was WBO thinking giving Jupp a #3 ranking? (for beating a 13-0 domestic-level opponent?)Comment

Why did Warren put Jupp forward for this beatdown? Shows he obviously doesn't care one bit about George Jupp. You'd never see him putting Mitchell Smith in for a fight like this at 2 weeks' notice. Terrible management. Criminal, actually. The momentum he had domestically now killed by getting pummelled at fringe world level.Comment

In Mexico, Berchelt has been feasting on B-/C level opposition, at best. With each successful outing Berchelt has shown overall improvement (especially his balance).
It wouldn't surprise me to see him stop Rocky Martinez like he stopped Jupp.Comment

I like the growth Miguel continues to display. He went from a reckless punching machine to a more composed, accurate and hard punching fighter that's ready for the bigger challenges.
Jupp showed heart and had the courage to travel and take on Berchelt on two weeks notice or so, props to him. Better luck in the future and I hope he bounces back from this.Comment

I agree, Berchelt has improved, his jab is better now, but his combos are still wild. Rocky was the low hanging fruit as far as Jr light champions go and Jupp got a short notice, a tiny ring, jet lag, hostile crowd, scouted for his severe lack of power and speed (he was slowwww), everything to make Berchelt look good. I'm not anti Berchelt, just apron strings.Comment
