Comments Thread For: Lucas Browne Hits Back at Shannon Briggs, Parker, Haumono

LUCAS BROWNE has fired back at rivals keen to gain publicity off the back of his stunning WBA heavyweight title victory over Ruslan Chagaev.

The heavy-handed Sydney man wrote his name into the history books when he KOed the tough Uzbek to become Australia's first ever world champion in the heavyweight division last weekend.

Tyson Fury is the WBA champion of the world, I'm not sure what Browne's manager is on about.

Fury is the super-WBA champion. Browne is the regular meaningless one.

Exactly. he is the champion of nothing. As limited as he is I actually like the guy. He showed a lot of guts last week to win in a very hostile environment. That being said I HATE how this guy gets to call himself a world champion, even if it is just for the 'regular' title.

The meaningless aluminum foil version of the belt. Browne can blow smoke and act like he's the king all he wants. It'll just make his one-and-done defense all that much better to watch. I shouldn't say that, actually he'll probably get past Fres, but next up will be his undoing.

Any Belt that is out there it is up for grabs and has bragging rights to win one...in all likleyhood this is the high point of his life and finally has something to show for it. Any poster on here that would win any type of title in any sport would take it and hang it on there wall for recognition. that being said..good for him Im glad he has something, but I don't think it progresses here I think that's basically it for him if he chooses to fight any of the major title holders. He should call himself a champion and try and get the biggest fight he can that's why hes a fighter and also looking for a big payday....why not. I would like to see Briggs vs this guy win or lose in the near future just cause.

It's sad the W.B.A. dilutes the prestige of their belt. But they are a business making money with 3 belts instead of one. Fury is the champ end of story

Lol, Lucas actually believes he's the champ.

                Who is Fury then?

Ha, Browne is nothing more than a paper champ. But you can't blame him for parading around as a 'heavyweight champion of the world'. The nonsensical WBA makes this kinda farcical **** possible. In fact, all the sanctioning bodies are as bad as each other.
