That is a solid run of fights. If HBO is going to go cheap, ****ing 'em. War Showtime!

Seriously great looking schedule. I'm also seeing reports elsewhere confirming Wilder vs. Povetkin is a done deal for May 21.
ya every single card is great. hbo just got smacked hopefully they try to compete and not just with bs mismatches. literally every card has a good fight john molina vs provo could potentially be fight of the year

I think this announcement is great, there's some really quality fights in it.

But with that said, I'm just wondering what the ratings will be like on SHO.

Cuz I'm looking at the schedule, and while there is some quality there, we know that Europoean-based fight cards usually don't do great ratings in the states...so Martin-Joshua and Wilder-Povetkin may not do great numbers. Gary Russell Jr. isn't a ratings draw. Jack-Bute and Provodnikov-Molina probably won't do great ratings.
I see this move as a strong move. It was announced on here earlier that Showtime and NBC are doing some cross promotion. I think people are short-sighted and have knee jerk reactions whenever something is announced.

Don't think Showtime will keep up this consistency but I expect the PBC to pick their schedule up in the summer after showtime slows down.

Damn good fights being made. Showtime tired of taking a back seat to HBO. It will be interesting to see what HBO comes up with.

But this is shaping up to be a very interesting year in boxing.

PBC looked terrible for Showtime at the time and proved to be just that. And now there is no guarantee PBC looking like they out of money and fighters going back to Showtime will even get them back to the ratings Showtime had pre-PBC.
Why do you spend so much time counting PBC's money and Showtime's ratings? These are good fights. Who cares how many people watch?
