Who said ignored?? You did, not I. I don't even see how it's relevant to the fact that it was a dangerous fight against a bigger guy. You want me to get worked up over the fact that Canelo was "only" 165 against a guy who was probably 155? And, you think they looked the same size? Wow, there is no way to have a reasonable discussion with you. This exactly.
So you will ignore that Canelo only weighed 165 fight night against Mayweather due to the CW? when he was normally at 170-175 back in the day? It was a weak Canelo.
And don't come up with that shiet of Mayweather weighin 150 that night. He was 150.5 in the weigh in and there's no way he lost weight. He also looked similar to Canelo in size so I think he was around 160.
There is a reason that THE WHOLE WORLD INCLUDING YOU though this was a dangerous, gutsy fight. Everyone said May won't dare fight Canelo, until he did. Using 20/20 hindsight doesn't make you look smart.Comment

i am guessing this is in response to my thread. Even by posting this resume there are questions and remarks to be made... a good name isn't everything, a good name in their prime is everything. People won't remember 20 years from now but here is my response to every name you posted.Genero Hernendez - don't know much about this fight
Corrales - Great win
Castillo - Great win
Gatti - ok win - money fight
Judah - good win
Marquez - ok win because Marques was moving up 2 divisions (put it in perspective... paquio moving up to fight GGG... great name not a good win)
Hatton - good win because Hatton was a smaller fighter moving up (otherwise would have been a great win)
Mosley - good win because shane was removed from his prime already lost to a handful of fighters in his own division (had it happened 3 years prior would have been a great win
Ortiz - meh - is this one really something to brag about?
Guerrero - meh - is this one really something to brag about?
Maidana - ok win, would have been better had not for the gloves fiasco
Pacquiao - Good win would have been a great win 5 years earlier...
Cotto - Good win but Cotto already was going down hill, lost in brutal fashion to a Marg, paquio
Canelo - good win would have been great win if not for the catchweight
De La Hoya - good win but De La Hoya was removed from his prime and semi retired, lost to Sturm and hopkins by this point
How can this be called not taking any risk?Comment

A man who always wins doesn't require any apologies on his behalf.I was critical until he fought Canelo. Erasing 20/20 hindsight and the fact that he was still favored to win, it was a ballsy move. Canelo was big, dangerous, and people were at least expecting Floyd to get roughed up a lot, even if he won. The fact that he took it was gutsy, the fact that he turned it into a showcase was stunning. And, I'm not a Mayweather apologist by any stretch.
Save it for excusers like manny pacquiaoComment

lol floyd retired when the welterweight division was heating up. then came back and potshot a win over a bloated lightweight
only good win after corrales was canelo. but that's a cw, as most floyd fans would want to critic.Comment
