Kovalev's competition has been too soft...

First off, I didn't, butthurt alt. Second, if you're picking against him, much less by KO, you have no right putting down his comp. Get it, sorry alt?Comment

He beat the top guys he needed to beat to get where he's at.. and he beat them in a brutal fashion.
You're a beterbiev supporter, funny, you know Beterbiev turned down to fight Kovalev? Gonzalez also did.
Barrera is overrated, he gasses out quite fast and his punching power is awfully average
Shabrankskyy looks interesting.. but he's no where near the level of Kovalev
I don't think most people understood what I was saying, I'm talking about the physicality, the style of Kovalev's opponents. The guys I listed are the complete opposite of the guys Kovalev has been fighting for the past few years they are actual light heavies.
Pascal-Hopkins are good wins on paper, but again, declining and not actual light heavies, I think Hopkins even weighed in at 173 for that fight.
Just compare how much smaller Pascal looked against vs Gonzales who was the same height, Gonzales was a true light heavy, not Pascal.
Barrera is 6'2, Shabranskyy is 6'3, Beterbiev/Gonzales are 5'11 but built like tanks, Browne is 6'1, Gvozdyk 6'2. Practically all these guys have longer reaches than Kovalev, they're all pretty durable, they all hit significantly harder than anybody Kovalev has ever fought they have real KO power. These are true light heavies, not Kovalev's past 4 potentially 5 fights over the past couple of years.
Fonfara-Clevelry are the 2 best true LHW's both Stevenson-Kovalev have fought, and I don't think either guy can beat the guys I listed. These guys all come in as cruisers on fight night.
And I know Beterbiev ducked Kovalev, he wants to get better before he fights him.Last edited by Cutthroat; 03-10-2016, 01:44 PM.Comment

It remains to be seen whether those fighters can even be as durable as the Fonfara types. Maybe they'll just turn out to be Sillakhs, but Barrera has more in common with Chilemba, decent all around, but average in every category and certainly not a big puncher. The weeding out process has already begun and Barrera is about to get schooled.
In other words, another pointless attempt to downgrade Kovalev. But credit where it's due, Hopkins by KO has to be one of the worst picks I've ever seen.Comment

Gonzalez barely sc****d by a damaged Pascal. Some beast.. But I can understand how you think he, amongst the others on that list, have significant KO power, since you picked Hopkins by KO.

Barrera is disgustingly average in every category.
I see this being a one-sided UD win for Ward, hell wouldn't even be surprised if Ward KO's this kidComment
