Assuming they move Porter Thurman back to Vegas, I may consider going to this fight.

That makes no sense. They care about him because they threw him into the fire so fast? If anything that would be brutal wouldn't it? Throwing someone with one pro fight against a tough fighter like Salido. That could go so wrong and potentially destroy a fighters career right off the bat.
Loma was the one that wanted to move fast. It wasn't HBO's ideas.

If they cared for him then Lomachenko would have more than likely have gotten the decision against Salido, which was a close fight, but since people don't like Lomachenko they pretend he took a beating. Go look at Loma's face after the fight, not even a scratch and marks on his face should be more noticeable for obvious reasons.
If Valdez or Verdejo were in that type of fight they would have gotten a wide decision win. I'm 100% sure of that.
Do you think Salido would have gotten away with everything he did against Loma if Salido was fighting a Verdejo or a Valez? I don't think so. They would have been on Salido's case right from the weigh-in.
If they cared about Loma then Loma would of had a fight scheduled already, but guess what he doesn't!

Just because of his light skin people think everyone cares about him. Eastern Europeans and Asian fighters don't get crap. The only way they'll get noticed is if they medal at the Olympics and the opportunities are still rare for them.
They are ********** in boxing. No opportunities for them where they come from. That's why most don't ever go pro. Do you think Promoters rush to them to give them these HUGE contracts? If you do then you are so wrong.

You said, "they wanted to catch him up with ggg and kovalev to rush their eastern block plans", what is that supposed to mean? GGG and Kovalev are the only Eastern Europeans getting any TV time and even they had it hard when they were up and comers.
GGG got screwed by his first promoter for 6 years. That's six years of his career wasted because they could care two ****s about him. Kovalev basically fought his first 17 or 18 fights for free. Kovalev was ready to give up on his pro career because it wasn't going anywhere.
American fighters don't even have to be ranked #1 in the nation to get a good contract. As long as you have a decent amateur career you can make something happen for yourself. Guess who doesn't?

I have to start pointing some of these things out. Even if people don't like it, because Eastern Europeans and Asian fighters are definitely suffering injustices in the boxing World.
Somebody has to point them out. Like I said, even if people don't like it.

^good points. A white (or black) American fighter with the same skills as a Easter Euro will get preference...But that's because boxing at the highest level is controlled by Americans... It's simply easier to market an American to Americans...

Add in the fact that the majority of sports fans are unable to even appreciate boxing, it makes creating a star in boxing very difficult (even IF you're American).

Basically, when it comes to the sport of boxing.... what goes on inside the ring is the most beautiful spectacle in all of sports... and what goes on outside of the ring, is the most ugly display of human greed.

Hey man Loma was hyped big time he was on HBO faster than verdejo and Valdez. Also Loma gets 2M a year in his contract plus his purses when he does fight around 750k?

The article is poorly written. It goes from talking about Loma/Walters on April 30th to somehow giving us a quote about the Verdejo fight for June 11th. Jeez.

neither of these guys are featherweights.

they are really welterweights taking advantage of the 24hr rehydration system to fight smaller guys.

if this is going to be at the big room in MSG they will have to stack the card up loma vs walters alone wont cut it.they are going to put verdejo on it and probably postol vs granados which makes for one hell of a boxing card. just take my money already!!!
